07/02/2007 - Clumber Park Hotel Appoints New Sales & Marketing Manager
Nottinghamshire’s Clumber Park Hotel has appointed Claire Ellison-Tope as its new sales and marketing manager as it prepares to enter the next stage of its multi-million pound redevelopment.
The 48-bedroom hotel on the edge of Sherwood Forest was purchased by a private consortium last October, and has recently submitted plans to create a £2.5 million spa – and generate 50 jobs as a result.
Claire said: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at Clumber Park Hotel at such an exciting time. The new owners have set their sights very high and my role is going to be extremely challenging and rewarding.
“As well as seeking out new markets, we will be working hard to promote the hotel and its new-look facilities throughout the local area. We also want to raise awareness of the hotel further afield, appealing to the increasing number of tourists wanting to take advantage of the region’s leisure attractions.”
Clumber Park Hotel co-owner Derek Macdonald said: “Claire brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked for 20 years in the hotel industry. We are very much looking forward to her bringing these skills to our hotel as we move forward into a new era.”
The married mother-of-two trained as a chef at Thomas Danby College in Leeds and had the first taste of the hospitality industry when beginning her career at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
She is also a former sales consultant with Expotel and regional sales manager for Accord Business and Leisure.
Before joining the team at Clumber Park Hotel, she spearheaded the sales function for a hotel group with a portfolio of luxury properties.
